Anonymous asked: hello! i changed to a raw food diet last sunday and at first i felt amazing, i thought this was going to solve my eating problems for good! however now im getting really painful bloating like i look 6 months pregnant and im horribly constipated (soz tmi) just wondering if you ever had bloating/gas when you started out and if so what you did to combat it?
Hi, that quite normal to have some bloating when your body adjusts to eating more raw meals, but you shouldnt be that bloated, its probably to do with your food combining!
I would recommend eating more mono-meals, and google ‘banana girl food combining’ to look at charts that will help you. This part of your journey is all about learning whats best for you, e.g. I know what fruit combinations I can digest the best Also its a given rule if you’re having a big raw meal to eat it methodically, and always eat your fruit dish before your greens/salad dish. Hope this helps!
Real shame about whats going on at the moment between freelee, durian rider, dan and kristina. For me the most important part of the raw movement is creating a sense of community and simply supporting each other, now its just turned in to a business and hierarchy for certain people.
one of my favourite winter raw meals if youre missing summery fruits
an orange juice ‘soup’ with frozen berries
Anonymous asked: do you know any vegan shops in South London?
vegan shops for…? food? there’s a good health food shop in greenwich market, im pretty sure there are a few in new cross, theres probably one in peckham x
post-market shop snacks
i just did that thing where you’re chopping up fruit for a smoothie and you start to eat the bananas that were meant for the smoothie…
banana, mango, lime spinach smoothie
grapes and celery
going to make some naughty ‘cheesy’ kale chips and cauliflower ‘popcorn’ today, along with dehydrating a load of persimmons
Had a three-course raw dinner tonight;
Half a watermelon with lime
a big kale salad with lemon, spiralized cucumber and red peppers
a 5 banana/date smoothie
and i have some cocao-date-walnut balls setting in the fridge.
even though its getting much colder now, i definitely feel different if at least two of three of my meals arent raw
even if i dont feel like eating another banana i always find myself going back to fruit, it really is the best solution
i cant imagine going back to eating cooked food all the time, it doesnt even make sense to me anymore
i got some predictable news this week that was about a decade too late, but i think its going to put some things to rest
i was watching freelee’s video this evening on emotional eating, and how she doesnt beleive it in and that its all about the brain’s lack of glucose linking to a depressed mental state etc, and i kind of agreed with it
the amount of times ive been cycling home, really hungry and have genuinely considered ordering a take-away, even tonight that happened but i came home, had some fruit and i felt so energetic considering i was at uni for 11 hours today.
maybe thats what all those years of loathing myself were about, a lack of simple sugars. maybe im finally at a point where i can accept and forgive myself for everything. im not going to promise anything.
Strawberry almond milkshake
Smoothie of bananas, oranges, spinach, parsley
Banana/almond pulp cookies from dehydrator
Juice of beetroot, orange, kale, spinach, parsley, pineapple, lemon, red pepper
Salad of kale, lemon, red pepper and avocado
So a little above the 801010 scale for fat today but I feel good aside from stressed and at least I had greens three times today.
This mornings strawberry ‘milkshake’ made from homemade almond milk, frozen strawberrys, cinnamon and some dates
Found a cheap nut stall in my area so have been adventurous with that the past couple days
Had a fully raw day today;
Smoothie of 3 bananas, 3 pears, a baby watermelon, spinach
4 frozen bananas and date sauce
3 spiralized cucumbers, spinach with dressing of 3 nectarines, lemon, coriander
3 bananas, 3 raw brownies of dates, cacao and walnuts
